Disney+, Hulu Top Inaugural Nielsen ‘Artey Awards’ Honoring Most-Streamed Titles of 2024

Disney+ and Hulu topped all streaming platforms with 17 combined title rankings across four top 10 category charts in 2024, according to Nielsen’s inaugural ARTEY Awards, an annual recognition of the streaming TV shows and movies that generated the most viewership throughout the year.

Multiple streaming platforms claimed 2024 ARTEY Awards, including Max, which had four ranked titles, Netflix (14), Peacock (3) and Prime Video with four titles.

Disney’s licensed children’s animated show “Bluey” topped all streamed content with 55.62 billion minutes consumed across 154 episodes on Disney+.

At No. 2, “Grey’s Anatomy” generated 47.85 billion minutes across 439 episodes on Netflix and Hulu, while the animated “Family Guy” on Hulu ranked No. 3 with 44.24 billion minutes across 435 episodes.

Netflix’s “Bridgerton” (21.4 billion minutes over 24 episodes) and “Love Is Blind” (16.45 billion/96 episodes) ranked No. 1 and No. 2 atop the most-streamed “New Streaming Original Series,” with Prime Video’s “The Boys” rounding out the podium with 13.6 billion minutes across 33 episodes.

Max’s “The Big Bang Theory” was the most-binged show in 2024 with 265.5 episodes streamed per viewer. Peacock’s “Little House on the Prairie” won the Legacy Award with 13.25 billion minutes on the platform.

Disney’s Moana topped all theatrically streamed movies with 13 billion minutes, followed by Super Mario Bros. Movie on Netflix with 11.7 billion minutes, and Prime Video’s Red One with 8.3 billion minutes.

The awards revealed that audiences spent more than 12 trillion minutes streaming in 2024, which equates to about 8.4 billion days, or 23 million years’ worth. This is a 10% increase over 2023, which tallied 21 million years of streaming.

The name of the awards comes from Nielsen’s founder, Arthur C. Nielsen, and is an acronym for Audience Rated Television Entertainment of the Year.

The awards were given based on viewing to streaming programs, measured and ranked by total viewing minutes accumulated throughout the year.

The awards also serve as an expansion to Nielsen’s annual Streaming Unwrapped report.
