Dark Pictures has set an Oct. 5 release date for The Old Ways, a horror film that will be available through digital retailers as well as on Blu-ray Disc and DVD.
The film, from Christopher Alender, follows Cristina, a journalist of Mexican origin, as she travels to her ancestral home in Veracruz to investigate a story of sorcery and healing. There, she is kidnapped by a group of locals who claim she’s the devil. The cast includes Brigitte Kali Canales, Andrea Cortés and Julia Vera.
Film Threat called The Old Ways “the greatest exorcism movie since The Exorcist.”
Special features on the DVD and Blu-ray include a behind-the-scenes documentary called “The Old Ways: A Look Beyond” (Blu-ray exclusive), director and writer commentary tracks, storyboard comparisons and deleted scenes.
