JustWatch: ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie,’ ‘The Bear’ Topped Weekly Streaming Through July 2

Universal Pictures/Illumination’s animated actioner The Super Mario Bros. Movie topped weekly movie digital transactions, while the second season of Hulu’s critically-acclaimed family diner drama series “The Bear” ranked No. 1 among episodic programming for the week ended July 2, according to new data from JustWatch.
The Berlin-based platform tracks the weekly streaming video habits, including digital retail and rental, of 20 million users across 59 markets, including the United States.
Mario Bros. held off renewed interest in the original Sony Pictures Animation release Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse following the theatrical bow of sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4 for the top podium spot.

“The Bear,” led by Jeremy Allen Wright, along with co-stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson, among others, held off Apple TV+ original sci-fi series “Silo,” and MGM+ original series “From” for the top podium spot. The latter two series topped June episodic streaming.
