This Thanksgiving week paled in comparison to last year, when Netflix original series “Wednesday” nearly broke 6 billion minutes (5.988 billion), and four titles (“Dead To Me,” “1899,” “The Crown” and Slumberland) topped 1 billion minutes each, and “Manifest” ended the week with 988 million minutes.

Comparing the two weeks finds that the release of original content slowed significantly, with acquired titles filling the void.

Notably, Top 10 juggernaut “NCIS,” which has expanded episodes and platforms, remained at No. 7 overall year-over-year, with a very similar volume of viewing. Even looking back to 2021, it was 5th overall with 666 million minutes.

Netflix’s new animated movie, Leo, featuring the voice of Adam Sandler, topped all streamed programing through Nov. 26. The family friendly fare notched 1.5 billion viewing minutes, with Hispanic homes contributing more than a third of its audience.

“Young Sheldon” became the most recent Netflix addition, originating on the Max platform, and bowing to 963 million viewing minutes across the two platforms.

The movie category entered its holiday-heavy rotation with some titles in the Top 10 for a couple weeks, including Elf (Hulu/Max – 664 million), Home Alone (Disney+ – 631 million), and The Grinch (2018) (Peacock – 480 million). Others included National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (Netflix – 341 million) being joined by Netflix’s Best. Christmas. Ever!, which generated 394 million viewing minutes.
