‘Red, White & Royal Blue,’ ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Top Weekly Whip U.S. Streaming Charts

Prime Video’s Red, White & Royal Blue led the Whip Media chart of streaming movies, while Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” topped the Whip Media chart of streaming originals among U.S. consumers for the week ended Aug. 13.

Red, White & Royal Blue, which started streaming Aug. 11, is about a secret romance between a fictional First Son and a fictional British prince.

“Only Murders in the Building,” the third season of which started streaming weekly Aug. 8, is a murder mystery series starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.

Landing at No. 2 on the streaming movies chart was Netflix’s Heart of Stone, which started streaming on the service Aug. 11. The spy action thriller stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.

Falling from the top spot to No. 3 on the streaming movies chart was the Disney/Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, another comic book-based movie from director James Gunn. In the film, which started streaming on Disney+ Aug. 2, the Guardians must scramble to save their furry pal Rocket from the genocidal geneticist who created him.

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” dropped from the top spot to No. 2 on the streaming originals chart. The series, the second season of which started streaming on Paramount+ in weekly episodes June 15, depicts the adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise a decade prior to the events of the original 1960s “Star Trek” series. The last episode of season two debuted Aug. 10.

Rising from No. 4 to No. 3 on the streaming originals chart was the coming-of-age romantic drama “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” season two of which started streaming weekly on Prime Video July 14.
