Netflix’s ‘Your Place or Mine,’ ‘You’ Again Top Weekly Whip U.S. Streaming Charts

Netflix’s “You” again led the Whip Media chart of streaming originals, while the service’s Your Place or Mine again led the Whip Media chart of streaming movies among U.S. consumers for the week ended Feb. 19.
The romantic comedy Your Place or Mine debuted on Netflix (and in theaters) Feb. 10. It stars Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher as best friends living on opposite sides of the country. They swap houses and lives for a week and discover what they think they want might not be what they really need.
Season four, part one, of the psychological thriller “You” started streaming on Netflix Feb. 9. Based on the books by Caroline Kepnes, the series follows an obsessive suitor and serial killer.

Rising from No. 3 to No. 2 on the streaming originals chart was “1923.” The series — a prequel to “Yellowstone” and a sequel to the series “1883” — stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren and follows a generation of the Dutton family in 1923, during the Western Expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression, which started earlier in Montana. The last episode of the first season debuted Feb. 12.
Falling from No. 2 to No. 3 on the streaming originals chart was “How I Met Your Father.” Season two of the series starring Hilary Duff debuted on Hulu Jan. 24. In the show mirroring the setup of CBS’s“How I Met Your Mother” (2005-14), Sophie in the near future is telling her son the story of how she met his father, a story that catapults viewers back to the present where Sophie and her group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.
Remaining at No. 2 on the streaming movies chart was Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which started streaming on Disney+ Feb. 1. In the film, as the nation of Wakanda mourns the death of T’Challa, Princess Shuri (Letitia Wright) and General Okoye (Danai Gurira) investigate the threat of Namor (Tenoch Huerta) and his long-hidden underwater kingdom of Talokan, whose cultural heritage might hold the secret to restoring the legacy of the Black Panther.
Rising from No. 4 to No. 3 on the streaming movies chart was You People, which started streaming on Netflix Jan 27. The romantic comedy, directed and co-written (with Jonah Hill) by Kenya Barris (“black-ish”), stars Hill, Lauren London, David Duchovny, Nia Long, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Eddie Murphy. In the film, a new couple and their families reckon with modern love amid culture clashes, societal expectations and generational differences.
